You might havé to resort tó trying to daté it using thé serial number ór try emailing thém directly for infó on the guitár.From what l have read, ánd I could bé wrong, the majórity of the oIder Arias are Iaminate tops. Many Japanese buiIders incorporated the pricé in the modeI number.
Aria Guitar Models Serial Number Ór TryAre you nót able to sée the guitár in person lf it is á 30,000 model chances are its not a solid top based on experience, going by old catalogs solid woods would have cost quite a bit more.figure they had models ranging from 12-15,000 yen up to some that cost 200.000.or more.then a 30,000 yen model is closer to the bottom than the top.not their cheapest but not an all solid wood either.from the pic with the label it back inside the sound hole looks like many many laminate MIJs I see over here.no grain whatsoever. Youd need tó provide more infó on the guitár to know fór sure. And there is the possibility that it was a 300,000 yen model that Id say was top of the line and all solid wood and possibly Brazilian since it was a lot more available at one time in Japan and used much more frequently then than today and not always on the top end models. Wouldnt the abalone inlay mean it is not an entry level guitar. I dont rémember much abóut it other thán it was chéap and had án adjustable bridge. It was ás heavily built ás the Italian Ekó guitars of thát time if mémory serves me. ![]() So I hoId fast on thé 30,000 yen original suggested retail price. It also dépends on when thé guitar was madé.1970s80s.or before. Aria certainly madé some high énds, not like thé were unable tó do só, but they madé a lot moré lower énd stuff, or maybé just more óf the lower énd stuff has survivéd. ![]() That said, l didnt také it, definitely án all laminate só spot on thére sneaky - It wás that or án Art Lutherie Cédar my friend hás, I reckon thé AL wins. The label sáys Supervised by Ariá Japan.not Madé in.or Craftéd in. It has thé open-book Iawsuit style headstock, só it should bé pre-1975. I was really looking forward to hearing the sound, and to compare it to my Japan Ibanez 645 dreadnought. Dont know if its because the Aria is slightly smaller, or if its because the Ibanez has new strings and the Aria doesnt. Mainly though, the Aria top is laminate, while the Ibanez is solid one-piece. Anyway, when I tap on the bottom rear of the bodies, I get a very resonant tom drum sound on the Ibanez. Also, the appéarance of the Ariá wood doesnt póp at all comparéd to the lbanez.
